Second Line In Cell In Table In Notes App

I’d like to create a second (and third, fourth, etc.) line of text in a cell in a table in the Notes app on Mac/iOS. Is there a way to insert a carriage return to start a second line inside the cell? Thanks!

Hello adamgrandy,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

I understand from your post you want to create a new line in the same table box in the Notes app. Press and hold down the Option key and then press Return and that will give you a new line in the same table box.

Hi adamgrandy,

We're glad that we were able to help out with creating a new line in the table box in Notes.

To do this in Notes for iOS, you would need to be using an external keyboard that includes the Option key.
