Help saving 3000 pictures from a shared photo stream

There's a photo stream that I'm part of. Currently, there are almost 3000 pictures, and I'm trying to save them to my camera roll so I can bring them into my computer and print some off. I'm having trouble with this though and could use some help.

The first thing I tried was selecting all pictures and saving them to the camera roll. The phone got stuck on the Preparing screen. You could see the circle with the indicator showing how much it has processed, but it didn't process very much. Eventually, I just canceled and quit the app.

I tried breaking it down into smaller chunks and that did work for a bit, but eventually, it stops again. I started with 500 pictures at a time and got two batches in, but it froze on the third batch. I broke that down to 250, 100, and even 52, but it still keeps getting stuck at that Preparing screen, and no progress happens on the progress wheel.

I've restarted my phone. I've quit all apps except for Photos.

Just looking for advice on how to save everything from that photo stream
