I need appcleaner for Mac Mini. I already have it on the 13" MBP. I downloaded the wrong app cleaner on Mac Book Pro and I had to hide it because the error message said that it couldn't be trashed because it was protected. I need to fix all that on the Mac Mini, and just have the good appcleaner, not the other one with a similar name.

You could do an etrecheck report on the machine you want the 'app cleaner' for. Usually you need no such an item.
Download and apply this program then publish the report in this thread and we will try to assess your problem.
I disagree. The right appcleaner where you can drag an app out of your applications has the ability to take it out of your library too so you don't just put the app in the trash. App Store is another cleaner and I don't like it. So I need to drag it to appcleaner. I am getting an error message that says App Store is a protected program. I can't seem to change that so both app cleaners are in my applications. I will talk with Apple about that.
If you download an app that you don't want you must have an app cleaner. There are many app cleaners on the App Store, but only one is approved by DVMUG and that is the one with the beige bag icon. I
n my case, I am dissatisfied with Libreoffice. It doesn't let go of what you write and save there. I found out that Apache Open Office has a new 4.0.1 which can be downloaded to Sierra. That is the only way I'll be able to get rid of LibreOffice safely and completely. In order to save the Memoirs that I wrote in LibreOffice over a period of months, which are notes for a final memoir, I will have to print them out. Apache Open Office is compatible with Word. You ocan email them as docs. The files in LibreOffice may say doc, but how to get them out of there and into another program is difficult. I will have to print them out and scan them into my new MBP before I can put Libreoffice into the app cleaner in my Mac Mini. That way I won't lose all the files. I will try downloading the etre file suggested.

Being on the App Store, or being endorsed by a Macintosh User Group does not constitute an endorsement by Apple, and Apple does not develop their own app cleaner.
Having said that, you clearly want one so any of the ones in the App Store should work as Apple does test them.
There is no such thing as the 'good appcleaner' not from Apple and certainly not from anyone else.

I'm not at all sure that Apple test them. In fact it has long been a problem for me that some apps in the App store are not as we, as caring helpers, want to see.
