iMessage is an Apple proprietary internet messaging service and is solely available amongst users of Apple products. So there is no way you are even having a group iMessage chat with Android users.

There is a clear distinction between the iOS messaging App, which handles both iMessage and carrier based SMS/MMS messaging in an iPhone, and the iMessage service itself.
