Turn off Monthly Challenges
How do I turn off these Monthly Challenges before they ruin my enjoyment of the health app ?
I'm pretty compulsive - I like to finish things, but if I lose a streak, there's a good chance I'll just give up. I realise that's a fault in my personality... but how on earth will anyone enjoy these new monthly challenges knowing Apple will just keep raising the bar till you fail?
I got October, despite only getting a notification only halfway through the month that I effectively had to increase my move goal by 2.5 times. I struggled - did a lot of walking at the weekends where I would normally relax more, only covering around 5-6 miles a day at weekends. The extra effort, 10-15 miles a day Saturday's and Sunday's paid off, and I caught up and got it. Now we're in November, and I have to do 145 minutes of exercise every day - not the usual 30 minutes but just under 5 times that amount. With a sore knee exacerbated by completing last month. Why do I feel this isn't healthy? I get some customers may be health nuts, and they'll love this. But I am not one. I have a desk job. A commute that is 3-4 hours a day, now another 2.5 hours a day exercising - at what point do I live? This is making me want to walk away. I've got a move streak of 850+ days.. but what's the point if it stops being fun - and it is... rapidly.
I've given feedback to Apple to this effect on the challenges. I'm sure some people might appreciate a game you can't hope to win, and if you keep trying, will ultimately cause injury as you over push yourself - I don't. If anyone knows a way of turning off these ridiculous challenges so I can carry on using my health app without frustration, that would be really appreciated.
