postal delivery point bar code

Where in Apple Pages for Mac does one print an envelope with a delivery point postal bar code with the address? To compare, Microsoft Word for Mac makes it simple:

@Peter:

The US Postal Service (a/k/a "USPS") uses bar codes for scanning and sorting mail. A bar code pre-printed on the envelope makes delivery faster and more accurate. Word has incorporated this feature for many years; the image of an envelope ready to be printed (below) is Word 2008! When I read that the upcoming OS High Sierra will likely be incompatible with existing Word files, I started looking harder at Pages to carry the full word processing burden, including dedicated envelope printing functions.

If your skillset is with Word, stay with Word. The annual Office 365 subscription, or the one-time purchase of Office 2016 for Mac (the only supported Mac MS Office suite) — will cost you far less than the frustration of finding more missing features in Pages, and the inherent opportunity cost of your lost time.

Apple never had any intention of Pages being used as a corporate word processor, or competing with MS Word, and accordingly, withheld all those nice features that business and advanced consumer users continue to find in Word, but not in Pages.

The Australian Post Office has for a very long time employed software that reads the handwritten address, concentrating on the postcode (which we are encouraged to make somewhat clear of the rest of the address).

As a consequence we use our postal system extensively whilst Americans seem to not use their post office and instead overuse freight companies like fedex which makes almost anything from the USA uncompetitive.

The USPS does the same character recognition scanning of mail, and then prints a bar code on the face of each mail piece. It's in all likelihood the same system you write about. However, a pre-printed bar code obviates those two steps, which means in handling huge volumes of mail it reduces delivery time and eliminates error with hand-written addresses.
