How can i identify photos in screen saver?

I have my screen saver set to show random photos from a folder I've specified which contains thousands of photos. Occasionally I see one that I think, "Hey! I forgot about that one. I wonder where it is?"

But I can't figure out how to identify it since as soon as I touch the mouse, the screen saver goes away.

So - is there a way to have the screen saver show a path or somehow otherwise identify each photo as it's being displayed?

Thanks.

AFAIK, not when using the folder of images as a screen saver via the Mac OS X screen saver options. You might want to search MacUpdate or Version Tracker to see if there are third-party screen saver solutions that provide the function you want. The user-submitted reviews accompanying the listings can be helpful in sorting the wheat from the chaff.

One could obviously hunt for the image one saw using Finder, but a better option might be to use an image browser, like that included with the shareware app GraphicConverter. It has a slide show option (slide show, not screen saver) that will display the path of any image in the slide show. Its image browser makes browsing large image collections very straightforward.

Good luck!
