I have created a Python/tkinter .dmg app for my Mac's desktop but can't get it to run. I open the .dmg to copy the .app file into the Applications folder. And when I click that .app file, the icons on the task bar just jiggle and nothing happens. Any suggestions please? Thanks.
What version of OS X, or macOS are you attempting this on? On what version of OS X or macOS was this Python/.dmg solution created? Have you installed any version of ActiveState's Tcl/Tk Framework yet?
Are you referring to a .py script file as an .app, or did you generate an actual application (.app) using py2app against a Framework build of Python (not the System Python)? If this was a Framework build Python, what version, and where did you download it from?
