Hi All, just upgraded to iTunes 12.7.1 ( Windows version ) and now I don't see any option to add ePub book from my PC to my iPad. Please help.
See these two articles:
Manually manage content on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iTunes - Apple Support
and
Changes in the new iTunes - Apple Support
I continue to manage my iPad's books using the technique in the first article.
Thank you for your time and suggestion. I really appreciate that. Unfortunately none of the links solved my purpose. I use my iPad to read ebooks while I am on the move. Exactly that's the ONLY reason I purchased my iPad. Reading ebook ( especially with ePub format) on iBook is really something. You can increase the font size or adjust the background screen with auto-night themes that go easy on your eyes while reading in a dark room. Above links talks about everything except "How to transfer your ebooks from your PC to iPad". I did not purchase those ebooks from "App Store" I just downloaded them on my PC from different sites. Can I have my old iTunes back please?
I’d urge you to revisit the Manage content locally setting in the documents.
With that setting, adding the ebook is as simple as dragging it from the PC, onto your iPad within itunes.
Assuming of course that the ebook is one that yould have worked before the itunes 12.7 changes.
Open itunes. On a PC, open a window explorer and go to the directory where your epub books are stored. Select the books you want to add to your apple device. Drag them into itunes onto your device.
How exactly do you do that given that the article only talks about music. Music isn't the problem the total elimination of the only interface for easily managing PDFs is the problem...AND THEY DON'T CARE!
Waitasec...now I think I see what you are saying...
WORST. "UPGRADE". EVER. I have my books VERY organized in author folders. A lot of them. So I need to go into each folder and drag over the files individually? I tried a few files and it crashed my iPad off iTunes. PLUS, these books were already in my iTunes before now and I can't even find a BOOKS tab on iTunes anymore. WORST!!
Take three long breaths, read the articles that I linked to in my first reply above - they explain what changes have been made. I agree that Apple could have explained "Why" more thoroughly, but the changes do make sense.
It is bad praftice to hi-ack someone else's question. Although the original poster has not yet mayed my answer as solving the issue, it looks as if it did. By posting extra content after that, you are hiding the solution from other prople who might be looking for an answer to a similar issue and are being more constructive in finding a solution.
If you still require assistance after reading the articles above, please start your own thread and I or someone else can take it from there.
Thank you. That worked.
