Does your Ipad Pro 12.9 expel air from charging port?
Hi,
So I bought an Ipad pro 12.9 last week, I was fitting a screen protector when I noticed that if there was any pressure on either the screen or the back casing, the ipad would expel air from the charging port, in a kind of whooshing sound and then when I let go, it would suck the air back in through the charging port. Weird! You can press anywhere on the screen or the back casing to make this happen. The back casing feels kind of hollow.
So, I ring Apple, they've never heard of it, they say to return it to Very.co.uk where it was bought online. Very.co.uk told me to return it to Apple. In the end, I booked a Genius bar appointment and they acknowleged that there was indeed an issue and that it was the second one from Very.co.uk that day. They ordered me in a replacement and I collected it today. It was really busy and noisy in the Apple store, so I was unable to test properly. So when I got home I was a bit disappointed to find that the replacement was exactly the same. In fact, the Genius I spoke to said theirs in the office did it too.
My partner has one at work and hers does not do this. My brother has one and his does not do this, theirs are different colours, both silver, mine is space grey.
So do you have an ipad pro 12.9 current generation? If you gently squeeze it, does it blow air out of the charging port? Please post here, I would like to know if it's worth trying another replacement. Thank you.
