ios 11.1 battery drain

Like most, I was suffering from a huge battery drain since I have upgraded to ios 11.

I have waited for ios 11.1 as everyone was mentioning that it will fix the battery issue. I have upgraded to ios 11.1 two days ago but now I feel that my battery is draining even faster. I can see the battery percentage dropping 2 points every 2 to 3 minutes of usage.

A fully charged iPhone 6s running ios10 used to last me a full day. Now I need to recharge 2 to 3 times per day for the same workload.

Hi Wazicop,

Like many iPhone users, you are suffering the same as them because Apple have sent a letter out to their Apple websites saying that they will be slowing down iPhones 6s Plus and lower because of old batteries. They say that you can get a new battery for a way cheaper price, like for $29 instead of like $100. Your problem sits perfectly in line with the letter, so if I were you, I’d get a new battery.

BTW, I never got a letter regarding getting a $29 replacement and either did my wife for her phone.

New battery won’t solve problem.

I got one and still have problem.

Go to bed 10pm battery 70%. Get up

7am battery 30%.

-1 I disagree. I have seen no change in battery usage since installing 11.2.2, and going from 10 to 11 my battery life improved.

That's my experience as well. I usually don't notice such things but the difference, for me was big enough that this time I did.

An Apple tech support had connected to my phone and collected some troubleshooting data.

I was indicated that my Iphone hardware was 100% in good working order, therefore it is left to the "software" buggy IOS11

Yesterday I was with 10.3.3 on iPhone 7 Plus, and now with 11.1 and same app same usage same brightness and settings, and full charge by 7:00am and by noon, I've got 65% left on 11.1 while on 10.3.3 at noon was at 98% and "Disappointed" to find out that now I can't downgrade to 10.3.3 back.
