Canadian French -CSA keyboard

Quick question, I prefer the Canadian French - CSA keyboard. I have trouble creating a backslash "/" that will be recognized as such. The layout shows that "option **** k" will create a backslash but it is slightly different "⁄" vs. "/" This Canadian French CSA "backslash" is not recognized in many contexts as a backslash.

I am sure there is an easy answer to this and would welcome any help. Thanks.
