device management enrollment

how does one de-enroll from device management. I purchased a used MacBook and it keeps asking me if I want to allow auto config through device enrollment. I'd like to remove my device from the program. thank you.

Then it is still tied to the previous owner. Did the seller disassociate it following these instructions?

And, since this was used in a school district where there was possibly one Apple ID (the IT or admin) for all the machines, it needs to be disassociated from that.

Also, did you reinstall the original OS of the machine (not the one it came with when you got it)? It would help if we knew the model/year of the machine as that determines how to reset it to factory condition.

Not using company email. I bought a used Macbook and I believe the device was enrolled by the organization (it appears to be a school district) which previously owned the laptop. Do I need to contact the IT administrator af the school district to de-enroll my device? That seems odd. I reset the machine to factory settings but don’t think that did the trick.
