How often do iOS devices that are in sync via iCloud get automatically updated? Do updates take place only under certain conditions (such as being connected to WiFi at the same time, etc.)?

It’d be helpful to know how much time it takes for (eg, every X minutes or hours) info that is newly acquired or edited or deleted from an iOS device being used to show up on other iOS or Mac devices. An answer to this would be much appreciated.

My experience has been that changes are synced very rapidly after any change -- i.e., seconds to minutes. The devices do not need to be simultaneously connected to wi-fi for changes that are synced via wi-fi.

However, the initial syncing after turning on iCloud Photo Library however can take a significant amount of time (e.g., days) if you have a large library.
