Can't format on Mac OS Extended anymore

Hi,

I have a problem, I'm no longer able to format my external disc into any other format than APFS after try it to see how fast is it. I need to format it back to Mac OS extended in order to keep using it with my router to manage the back-ups.

Please, tell me what to do. Changing to PC is an option because Apple is screwing it up a big time!

Thanks.

At the time to erase the disk, the format selector just let me select APFS format options.

Before this, I had all the possible options to format, all APFS formats shown in the picture, Mac OS Extended, Mac OS Extended (Journaled), Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive), Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled), MS-DOS (FAT) and ExFAT. Now after format with APFS they're no longer available, as is shown.

I also tried to format through Terminal but it says "You cannot manually format an existing APFS Container disk".

And also as a volume and the message was the same.

If you need any other information, please tell me. Thank you.
