Have you permanently deleted the photos and video from the Recently Deleted folder in the iOS Photos app?

Other things you can do to recover iPad Storage space.

If you need to free up free data storage space on an iPad/iDevice, you need to start by backing up your iPad to either Apple's iCloud or to connecting to a computer running the latest iTunes.

Then delete any installed apps that you no longer use or use infrequently enough that they aren't missed (you can always reinstalled any purchased or free apps at some time later, as you need them).

Thin out/delete any music/videos/movies/TV shows/images/eBooks/eMagazine/iBooks/audio books/Documents/PDFs, etc.

Delete any old saved emails that maybe saved to your iPad.

Also, you can check to see what stuff is eating up all your valuable data storage space by going into the Settings App,,General Settings Panel, in the right hand column, tap Storage & iCloud usage panel, in the top Storage Panel, tap the Manage Storage panel, wait for a list of apps to generate that will tell you how much space each app is taking up on your iDevice.

Good Luck to You!

More details to my last post from Dec. 25: currently my iPad storage for Mail shows 392,1 MB, thereof App Size 4,8 MB and Documents & Data 387,3 MB (thereof Mail and Attachments 240,7 MB). With every mail received the storage use increases. Does anyone know how to clear Documents & Data other than deleting all mail accounts and possibly delete the App? Where is Apple support?

If you are responding to me, I definitely do not work for Apple.

You're NOT addressing Apple or any responsible, cognizant Apple teams or employees here.

These are user to user Apple product technical support community forums.

Aside from Apple Support Community employees moderating these forums, and the occasional Apple technical technical support specialists assigned to these support communities, who help us all out here, from time to time, we are all users, like you, who volunteer our time to help out our fellow users with Apple product technical issues and solutions.

Did you follow my solution about the Photos app?

Have you tried a hard reset of your iPad by holding down both the Home and sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons?

Not sure why iOS Mail app keeps increasing, but if you have set up any local folders in the Mail app, which you can do, emails maybe are being saved into these localised folders.

Sorry, no I wasn’t replying to you...was hoping Apple monitored these questions etc. Hope I didn’t offend you. I’ve tried everything that’s been suggested hard resets , deleting accounts then hard resets and adding in accounts again. No local folders ..don’t even know how to do that. I read my mail keep them only long enough to confirm the details, then trash them. Delete my trash every day, clear out junk mail continuously, have no saved mail and still it grows. I use AOL and Gmail I used cardav to import my contacts and that’s only contact group I have...don’t use the cloud for mail or contacts. It’s not that I don’t have room, but no one in my family who have same set up have this problem so was looking for solution.
