Bluetooth mouse disappears after sleep

Running macOS 10.13.1 on a mid-2012 MacBook Pro, though this issue also happened with earlier versions of the OS.

I use a Logitech M557 bluetooth mouse, and I notice that intermittently after waking the Mac from sleep, it cannot see the mouse. When I look at mouse settings, it just keeps searching for it without success, even when I try pressing the pairing button on the mouse. There are no other bluetooth devices nearby so interference is not a likely culprit. I've found the only remedy is to restart the Mac, and it will see the mouse again after restart.

Is this more likely an issue with the mouse or the computer? I have a couple of other bluetooth peripherals (a speaker and headphones) but because it's an intermittent problem, difficult to see if problem exists with another device.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.1), No iPhone

Thanks for the response.

I had all three settings checked but followed the instructions to undo and then set them back on again. The mouse correctly wakes up the Mac, but again, the issue is intermittent times when the Mac just doesn't see the mouse, even when the Mac is awake and searching for the mouse which itself is turned on trying to pair.

Will see if this does correct the problem, though admittedly I'm not overly hopeful.
