Purchasing iTunes TV Shows in Different Country

There is a TV show I want to purchase that I found out is only available in the UK iTunes Store and not the USA iTunes Store.

I am able to think of how to create a second iTunes account in the UK to be able to make the purchase. The potential problem becomes, will the iTunes software that is logged into a USA account play the TV Show files purchased in the UK? Or otherwise, can the UK purchase be transferred to a USA account?

Mac mini (Late 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10)

You cannot use the UK store unless you are here in the UK with a UK billing address, and content cannot be transferred between accounts or countries. You could try contacting the TV company / US rights-holder for the program and ask them to allow Apple to sell it in the US

From the above link, can you help point me in the right direction of the TV company / US rights-holder that is the appropriate point of contact? What's frustrating is that this TV show did use to be on the USA iTunes Store but got pulled suddenly without warning.
