how do i restore my iphone x from an iphone 7 back up

Having similar problem with a twist...my backup will restore to X from 7Plus from encrytedbackup, only none of my passwords transfered... when i upgraded from 6 to 7plus all my passwords transfered...emailed on this last week, but no answer from Tech Support

Make sure your iPhone 7 has the latest ios 11.1.2

Go to iCloud backup now over your wifi.

If iPhone X need the latest 11.1.2 if it doesn't have that set iPhone X up as new iPhone download latest ios 11.1.2

Then go to settings down to reset Restore iPhone back to factory settings.

Set back up over your wifi when it asks if you want to use iCloud backup Say yes to get your apps and data on new iPhone X

What version of iOS was on the 7 when you made the backup? What version is on the iPhone x?
