Converting gif into a movie file

Is there a way to convert a gif into a movie file so that I can make it work with one of my programs?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Do you have Quicktime Pro?

If you have QT Pro, just open the gif file in Quicktime and export it as a movie.

NO I do not have it. Your idea is good to know though.

I think if you are looking for a free solution, you're out of luck. I am not aware of any free converters that will do the what you want. Developers of image and video file converters typically have to pay licensing fees associated with various formats. These developers are not willing to pay the fees and then offer their software for free.
