High Sierra doesn't recognise iSight camera

Since upgrading to High Sierra, neither FaceTime nor Photo Booth recognise my firewire iSight camera. Both say there is no connected camera.

How do I make the system use the iSight, since it's obviously aware of its presence?

Mac Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13), 12GB RAM, 4 x 3TB drives.
