I can’t pair my Apple Watch Sport to my iPhone 5?

It says my phone needs an update but I’m the settings it says it’s up to date?

Hi

An Apple Watch that has been updated to watchOS 4.x cannot be paired to an iPhone 5.

An iPhone 5s or newer model is required, running the latest version of iOS 11.x:

Set up your Apple Watch - Apple Support

watchOS also cannot be downgraded.
