Is there an always-on-display while charging the iPhone X?

I would like to use my iPhone X as a night stand clock while charging overnight. Is there a way of making sure the screen doesn't turn off while charging? Does it show the time in addition to charging status?

iPhone X, iOS 11.1

I would not do this with an OLED screen. OLED technology is prone to burn-in on a screen and having the OLED screen of your very expensive iPhone X on a relatively static page for several hours simply doesn't seem like a very good idea to me. I'd go to Amazon or BestBuy and get night stand clock for very little money, which is designed to be a clock on all night.

I could find nothing that actually addressed my particular question - though there is something about setting the screen timeout. I'm (will be) coming from the Android OS and it provides for a 'Screen Saver' that can be set to keep the screen on while the phone is charging. I use that while charging my phone overnight and assumed that iOS had something similar. I did try looking it up in the 'manual' but could find nothing that addressed that, so thought, perhaps, the more experienced users on this forum could help me out.

I've been using an OLED screen for some time now on my Samsung phones and am well aware of the potential for 'burn-in'. I take care of that possibility using the combination of an Android OS feature (Screen Saver) that keeps the screen on while charging and a "night stand app" that moves the clock slowly around on the screen as long as the phone is on charge. I couldn't find any information on a similar arrangement that could be used with the iPhone X and thought that the more experienced users on this forum could come up with a solution - after using a single device for both an alarm and night clock, going back to two devices for the same function seems - - - antiquated.

Thank you - yes, I've read several articles that point out the burn-in problem with OLED displays. From those articles and my experience with the AMOLED displays on my Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, I understand that burn-in can be mitigated, if not eliminated, with a dimmed display and/or a moving image. Apple buys their OLED panels from Samsung which are made to Apple's specification - for better or worse will be determined after the iPhone X has been 'in the wild' for a month or two - as it's Apple specs, I'm leaning to the better side.

What I was hoping for is someone who could point me in the direction of a "Night Stand" type app that uses a combination of dimmer display and moving image to minimize or eliminate burn-in and make the iPhone X, in fact, a great solution for use as an always on night clock (or at least as good a solution as my Galaxy S8+ currently is). It is possible, I guess, that iOS developers have not had to deal with burn-in so have yet to developed such an app.

There are literally hundreds of clock apps in the App Store for iPhone.

With a little google search I found this which would actually be a great option for the OLED screen of iPhone. I don't know if its been optimized for iOS 11, but if it's still available in the app store, it would work on an iPhone X

Ah good, that's what I was looking for - apps to check out. That's one I hadn't found in my searches yet. Like the YouTube article says there are literally 1000s of clock/alarm/nightstand apps available and it's hard to find a good one. That's one reason I use user forums like this one to ask other users what their experience has been and if they have any recommendations. I've made note of it and will check it out further after I actually get my phone.
