Callers complaining I sound muffled on iPhone 7 plus

Iphone 7+ only a few months old and callers are complaining I sound muffled. This has been annoying as I need the phone for work. There is no case on the iPhone now and the Problem is intermittent however Often. I can see other users have the same problem and wondering why Apple has not put a fix out for this. I’m with Vodafone AU and now have to go through the checking, waiting with no phone for a period of time. i am seriously thinking of moving to Samsung! 5s had problems with antenna (hardware) 6s plus low volume in speakers and now iPhone 7Plus muffled sound! Really Apple

Hi thanks for reply, I have tested microphones using voice memo and it’s clear to me. I have removed screen protection and case has already been removed. I just made a phone call and it was clear to the receiver of the call. Screen protector may have been the issue. Interesting that it was nowhere near the bottom mic.

Is your iPhone 7 Plus still behaving davemrs1? Problem sounds like the problem I had near the end of Sept '17...by the time my Genius Bar appt rolled around, it had mysteriously fixed itself...so cancelled appt. Now, again, on Dec '17, nobody can hear me UNLESS I have the headphones inserted into the charging/headphone port. Other person cannot hear me whether I call them or vice versa. I cannot call my voicemail and create a greeting/recorded name unless headphones in mic port...greeting is garbage. Using speaker phone does not work either. I have tried creating a greeting in my car/outside my house when I have 4 of 4 bars showing...garbage. Here is what I CAN do: record a voice memo, use Siri, speak to Apple Maps / Google Maps, use voice-to-text in Messages, use dictation in my Mail and Yahoo email apps, record a video with voice. I'm going to make another genius bar appt and go whether mine is behaving or not.

Me again...see previous reply. I should have mentioned that the mic problem occurs WITH and WITHOUT my phone case. Have not removed the glass protector....it is not near any microphone.

Also, I know exactly when the problem came back this time...in was 23 minutes into a call on November 23, '17.
