I have an IPhone X and I’m truly regretting I ever got one. That huge ugly gray “boat bottom” is only one MANY things that are wrong with this phone. This coming from a loyal Apple customer and “fanboy” for so many years.
Apple said the screen would be bigger in comparison to the Plus, which I’ve used happily since the 6 and then 7. While the screen is “bigger” length wise it is much narrower width wise. To me, this doesn’t mean bigger. Bigger means bigger. It doesn’t mean taller and thinner. I didn’t know this was the case when I ordered and felt a bit betrayed and lied to looking at the phones side by side to one another. I would not have ordered the X if knew this was the case.
The aspect ratio and the screen size is peculiar. Coming from the plus, texting is no less than painstaking due to the lesser width screen.
On lock screen, buttons like camera and flashlight along with the text prompting how to open phone look “cheap”. Reminiscent of cheap iPhone copies they sell in Asia.
Many transitional elements in Apps that are activated or appear by simply putting the iPhone Plus in landscape mode are all totally gone in the iPhone X. Non existent.
In short... by trading in my 256 Gb 7 Plus, and replacing it with an iPhone X, I have downgraded in a big way. In every aspect. Hardware, software, and function. It upsets me very much and I’m terribly disappointed with the company who I came to expect, could always deliver the next “big thing” and I had total trust to do so.
Is this really the “iPhone X”?? Really? The product we’ve all been waiting for that is supposed to represent the best example and iteration, thus far, of arguably one of the most influential technological advancements in modern history?? No way. I expected to be blown out of the water the way I am every time I upgrade to a new version of an Apple product. I’m extremely disappointed with this product, and see myself returning this phone in the next few days and going back to the 7 Plus. Rather than feeling that sense of “pride” owning the newest Apple product I feel taken advantage of. And that’s not how a loyal customer should be made to feel after all these years.
