Apple Pencil and Youtube

I’m on an IPad Pro 12.9 (2017) and I was wondering if other people were having similar Problems I’ve been having with Apple Pencil and YouTube. When I search YouTube on safari, and select a video, the Apple Pencil works fine. However, when I click the full-screen option in the bottom right corner, and enlarge the video to full screen, the Apple Pencil doesn’t work anymore (tapping the pencil does not stop the video, tapping settings does not open up the settings, and tapping on the reduce screen size button on the bottom right does not reduce the screen size.)

Does this happen to anyone else?
