Hi Julie_ann11,
There are a number of things we can try to troubleshoot, diagnose and correct the issue you're having. This issue is typically related to obsolete (out of date) software.
First things first, you need to ensure you're running the latest version of iOS. You can do this by going to Settings > General > Software Update. If you have an available update, simply follow the prompts to update the iPhone.
If you have up-to-date software, your problem may be relative to something else. If this is the case, please follow these steps to try and correct the issue:
- Open the App Switcher, and close all apps currently running on the iPhone. You can learn more about using the App Switcher here.
- Now that there are no apps running, you're going to need to restart your iPhone.
- When your iPhone restarts, open the Settings app and go to "Wi-Fi", and ensure you're connected to a wireless network. Most apps will only update on WiFi, not cellular/mobile data.
- Once you've verified that you're connected to a network, go to the "Update" tab in the App Store and double check to make sure that apps have started updating.
This usually clears up a lot of app update issues. If you're still experiencing issues after following these steps, feel free to reply to the thread or contact Apple Support (getsupport.apple.com).
Should you have any questions, queries or concerns, please don't hesitate to reply the thread, as I'm following it.
Best of luck!
