Screen malfunction Mac Air

This happened to my 5 years old Mac Air air today. There are no signs of any physical damage. Do anyone have an idea what could be wrong and how to fix it?

Shut down

Disconnect all external devices

reset the smc

reset the NVRAM

then boot into safe mode (it may appear to go away at this point but you still need to reboot and it may come back)

then reboot normally with devices disconnected.


if the problem persists run a diagnostic

if a probem is found you may need to take the device into Apple for repair

call 1-800-MY-APPLE to make an appointment before walking into an Apple Authorized Repair Center.
