I have a table with over 300 cells. I wish to filter that table.
However, when I try I get the message, "Filtering is disabled because the table contains merged cells"
The merged cells are far from obvious. How do I find them?

if you need to find them, that's one thing. If you just want to un merge an cells that are merge, select any cell in the table, then use the menu item "Edit > Select All", then select the the menu item "Table > Unmerge Cells" (if it's enabled)
What instructions are you looking for? As Wayne describes, first select all the cells in the table. Then choose Table > Unmerge Cells from the menu.
