macOS update without apple ID

Hi there,

I'm working on a iMac from 2013 and have to update from macOS 10 to Sierra to be able to update my Adobe software to the latest version. But the computer is working on an Apple ID which is not my own and I don't know the password.

So I'm wandering: can you do a macOS update without knowing the password from the Apple ID?

Plan B is to make a new account and install all software from scratch...

Hope there's a way around.

Regards, Vincent
