iOS 11.1 - YouTube killing iPhone 6s Plus battery

I just found this issue the other day.

The YouTube app is one of my favorite apps; I use it every day. It has been working fine, until I upgraded my iPhone 6s Plus to iOS 11.1.

I was seeing my battery drain quicker than normal the other day. So I opened my battery stats within Settings, and YouTube was at the top, with background activity.

Then, last night, I charged my phone fully, and used the YouTube app to stream music via Bluetooth to my LG sound bar for about 10 minutes. The battery, which was fully charged, went down to 80%.

Why is YouTube suddenly draining my battery so quickly? I keep everything on my phone up to date, so it's weird to see this happening now.

Here's a screenshot. The reason my usage says "Last 20 Hours" is because my phone does this weird thing where the battery usage resets every now and then, despite the fact that I'm a moderate user.

Hi niclonnic,
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. If you are having issues with a specific app consuming an unusual amount of battery after an OS update (in this case, the YouTube app), you may find the information and troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful. Although it is aimed at a slightly different issue, the steps outlined may still be useful, in particular checking for any app updates and/or reinstalling the app, as well as reaching out to the app developer directly if necessary.
If an app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open - Apple Support
Regards.
