I don't know what to do with my old iPhone 5c. it no longer works, has water damage and has damage with battery. Shows display and everything, just when I unplug it from charger, it does rapidly. Should I just throw it out?

I have a 12 GB iPhone 5c with excessive water damage to battery. Currently running iOS 10.

Drop it off at Apple, BestBuy or any other free recycling center. DO NOT throw it into the trash. Lithium alone is very toxic, highly recycleable and should never go into the trash.
