how to transfer photos from broken iphone to new iphone

Please help!

My iphone 6 plus got damaged and it is now a junk:( I had to pick up a new phone (Iphone 8 plus) with panic attack! Can anyone please help me how to transfer photos and videos from a junk iphone to a new iphone? I tried restore icloud on the new device but it said that there is no backup available:( I have photo of my baby since he was born till he is now 5!!! please help!

If you had iCloud Photo Library turned on in the old iPhone, turning the same setting on in the new phone will sync all of the photos to the new phone. See: iCloud Photo Library - Apple Support

If you had a backup to a computer via iTunes or if you didn't have iCloud Photo Library turned on but did have the old phone set to back up to iCloud, see: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support
