Can't Launch Wi-Fi Sync With iTunes From iPhone X

I have an iPhone 6 running iOS 11.1.

I also have an iPhone X running iOS 11.1.

I have a Mac Mini running macOS 10.13.1.

On my Mac Mini, I have iTunes 12.7.1.14.

Finally, I have an Airport Extreme which provides me with my Wi-Fi network.

The iPhone 6, the iPhone X, and the Mac Mini are all connected to the same Wi-Fi network provided by the Airport Extreme.

Both the iPhone 6 and iPhone X are properly configured in iTunes so that Wi-Fi syncing can be performed.

I can initiate a sync with the iPhone 6 over USB from iTunes.

I can initiate a sync with the iPhone 6 over Wi-Fi from iTunes.

I can initiate a sync with the iPhone 6 over Wi-Fi from the iPhone 6.

I can initiate a sync with the iPhone X over USB from iTunes.

I can initiate a sync with the iPhone X over Wi-Fi from iTunes.

I cannot initiate a sync with the iPhone X over Wi-Fi from the iPhone X.

Troubleshooting steps performed:

-Restarted iPhone X

-Force-restarted iPhone X

-Reset network settings on iPhone X (Settings --> General --> Reset --> Reset Network Settings)

-Restarted Mac Mini

-Restarted Airport Extreme

-Made sure TCP ports 123 and 3689, and UDP ports 123 and 5353 were opened on the Airport Extreme

(As mentioned here: Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes using Wi-Fi - Apple Support)

-Unchecked and re-checked "Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi" in iTunes several times in various combinations with the previous steps

-Contacted Apple Support which had me perform all these steps again

The issue still persists despite this.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

iPhone X, iOS 11.1, null

Update:

I resolved this issue.

Fix:

I realized that while I had previously been trying to sync, I didn't actually have iTunes explicitly try to sync anything (Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.) because I rely heavily on iTunes and iCloud for everything: no real point.

So I performed the following steps which resolved the issue:

  1. I connected the iPhone X to the Mac Mini over USB.
  2. I disabled "Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected"
  3. I disabled "Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi" in iTunes
  4. I enabled iCloud backups the iPhone X from iTunes.
  5. I clicked "Apply" in iTunes
  6. Then I launched a backup to iCloud from the iPhone X.
  7. Once the backup completed, I re-enabled iTunes backups for the iPhone X from iTunes.
  8. I re-enabled "Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected"
  9. I re-enabled "Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi" in iTunes
  10. I picked something to sync (In my case: "Sync voice memos" under Music) in iTunes
  11. I clicked "Apply" in iTunes
  12. I launched a sync with the iPhone X from iTunes
  13. I launched a backup of the iPhone X from iTunes.

Now when I go to Settings --> General --> iTunes Wi-Fi Sync, I can launch a Sync.

I'm not sure which part fixed the problem (Creating an iCloud backup or explicitly specifying something to sync) but I hope this can help anyone else that might encounter this issue.
