mds LaunchServices: Database mapping failed with result -10813

Spotlight stopped to answer to simply questions as "System Preferences" or "Disk Utility".

I've tried to re-create the index via System Preferences (adding and removing the disk in the privacy pane) and via terminal (mdutil -E, -i off/on, rm -r .Spotligh-V100) but without success.

In the console there are errors on every second like:

errore16:19:03.743202 +0100mdsLaunchServices: store or url (null) was nil -10813, retrying
errore16:19:03.743247 +0100mdsLaunchServices: Database mapping failed with result -10813, retries = 7

The retries is a counter that increase in loop from 0 to 9.

Any help?

I have the same problem (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8176120).

I don't know if it is related, but it appeared around the same time I reformatted an external spinning drive in APFS (Encrypted).

I tried reinstalling macOS 10.13.1 over the existing install without success.

I feel my last option is to reformat and install a fresh system from scratch. My Mac is unusable without Spotlight…

I have the same issue. It also happens when I try to make a Time Machine backup:

error21:22:27.968375 +0100backupdLaunchServices: Database mapping failed with result -10813, retries = 1
error21:22:36.887358 +0100backupdLaunchServices: store or url (null) was nil -10813, retrying

...

I have thousands of these issues in the console log.
