Hey guys and gals,
Could anyone tell me how i would go about adding some reverb or pitch shift to just one part of an audio track? I'm trying to do a break down and want to change up the sound on a couple of parts.
You can always bounce out FX rendered sections, but the easiest way is to either automate sends to FX returns (or the busses the FX are on), or simply snip the section of the region you want to have different processing on and put that section on an adjacent track with the different effects.
Logic unfortunately does not have this capability (as for example Cubase SX does).
You have to regulary bounce the selection and add it to your arrange window.
yes, I know it is "different" than you want to do it.... But take this: as you will import the new "selection" (bounced region with effects etc...) you can add it to the new track of the same channel, and mute(the track or region, not the channel) and than hide the track where the "dry" source selection is.
Tis way you can achieve similar thing as you wish - as I guess you might searching for applying effects to regions but than also remove or change them later if you want
Example:
Let's say we have 3 regions inserted to Track 1 and we want to apply some effects only to the middle region...
1/ Insert the effects to the Track1 channel, select the middle region, select L and R locators, make sure that only this region is playing to the Output where you will press Bounce... In the bounce dialog select Add to the Audio window.
2/Create another instance of the Track1 and move the "dry" (source) middle region to this track. Hide this track.
3/ Finally place the "wet" bounced Region to the place of the "dry" region and you are done.
This way you always can come back to the "dry" (source) region just unhide the track that contains it....
There are many other ways, like placing the "dry" regions to a track leading to No Output or/and place them to a Folder etc. etc.
Some effects can be applied from/within Sample editor. but that is probably not what you're after...
