How to get files into iTunes from Dropbox without a Computer

i no longer have a computer as my MBP was stolen and I don’t plan to replace it as I think my iPhone and iPad should work for my purposes.

One area I’m trying to figure out now is how to download music and talks from the Internet and get them in to iTunes or some other music app like Google play or Amazon music so that I can have all of my music and talks in one place - without a computer.

I can get the downloaded files into dropbox and I was hoping that the new Files app would give an option to drag music files into iTunes but I don’t see that. Would appreciate any suggestions on how to accomplish this without a computer. Thank you

There is no actual iTunes on an iPhone or iPad. iOS devices have 2 Apps, the iTunes Store, which is just a way to access the store, with no other function for it, and the Music App.

The Music App, is not open to receive files from locations or apps other than iTunes on a computer, or purchases made directly in the iTunes store.

If you are downloading media from other sources and stored in Dropbox, then there is no way to transfer them onto the Music App.

You can choose to use other Media management Apps, such as VLC that can allow you to transfer the files from Dropbox into them. Or just use the Dropbox App directly to manage them and play them. The dropbox App can play most common audio and video formats natively.
