Annoying box keeps coming up on my new iPhone X

Ever since I upgraded to iPhone X I very frequently get this dialog box that says "Purchase of this item is not currently available This item is being modified. Please try again later." There is a button at the bottom that says OK that I have to press before I do anything. I am not trying to buy anything when it comes up. It usually just happens when I start using the phone or sometimes at other times. I've tried deleting some of the apps but this doesn't help. How do I make this annoyance go away?

Hi btcrane. Did you try to purchase an app that failed to download? I believe that message is coming from the app store. Try force quitting the app store app and see if it stops.

Think we finally figured this one out. The iCloud backup from the old phone was corrupted. Stopping the restore seemed to resolve the issue.

It may be a result of the restore from backup. One of the apps you had on the old iPhone is temporarily not in the app store, so it cannot be restored. Not much you can do but wait for it to be updated. I don't think it should take too long.

And the kid at AT&T probably sold tennis shoes a couple weeks ago, so I put no credence in anything he says. If the problem you are having was common, there would be more people experiencing this. Since they clearly aren't, you have an unusual issue, but I'm sure it can be solved.

The phone is new. You should contact Apple Technical Support and ask them to help you. You can:

Make an Appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar
Use the Contact Support button at the top right of this screen
Call 800-MY-APPLE

I'm sorry I can't be more helpful, but this is not a common issue I'm familiar with.

I have not as far as I know. This problem started when I set up my new iPhone X using a restore from an iPhone 6 plus. I've restarted the phone but that doesn't seem to help. I thought this might be some kind of 'rouge app' I also tried deleting many of the apps - probably about 50% so far but this seems to have no effect.

That's not what I meant. I meant the title of the thread said something about a box coming up. It can't be too many pages back as it was just within the last few days the thread was started.

Looked through the forum. Someone else describes a dialog box coming up frequently which may or may not be the same problem as it is not specified exactly what the box says. Some possible solutions were posted but none of them worked for that person or for me.

This issue is very annoying. Went to the AT&T store and the kid says basically all iPhones are full of bugs like this and if I don't want this I should have gotten an Android phone.

There's another thread on this on this forum. I don't remember what the solution was, but do a search and maybe there was a simple solution.

Just thumb through the pages then, it did say something about a box coming up.

I'm really glad you found the right solution for this. I know it was frustrating! Now enjoy that phone. iPhone X, in my humble opinion is simply the coolest phone Apple has EVER released!
