unable to upload photos

Why is there an Album with Unable to Upload photos 5,000 of them in my iPhoto?

When I made a new smart album and moved them they did not show to be corrupt. Most pictures are reshoots of pictures I took on my iPhone of older pictures in a old fashion phone album, for safe keeping and sharing.


Is there a way to make sure they are saved?

I checked online and most of the pictures are not in the cloud but a few are why were some transferred and others not?

Are you using Photos for Mac? There is a smart rule "Unable to upload" in Photos for Mac, but not in iPhoto, afaik.


If photos are in "Unable to upload" the file format may not be compatible with iCloud. This can be fixed by exporting and reimporting. This will change the file format.
