Was looking into it too and found this on a Bartender Forum:

Question: When Bartender 3 is running and I see a lot of Window Server Errors with the message error: [ERROR] - Unknown CGXDisplayDevice: 0x41dc9d00
Answer: For some reason Apple added an error log message to a public API call that returns correctly, we have filed a radar bug report to them, but with the new unified logging I don't think they mind the console having tons of messages in it.
You can filter this message when looking in Console, or I believe permenently using the log command line tool / profiles. We will add more info about this soon.
Unified logging is very light weight so you do not really have to worry about this (hence why Apple have left so much logging in).
It so happens that I do have Bartender, but as you can see when you read that post, it seems that there is nothing to worry about.
I found that too... However, I finally got in contact with them and they took tome data from my computer because they wanted to register the error. I have that error in two computers, none of them new Mid 2010 and Late 2011. I wouldn't be worried, but it's good that apple is aware that we customers see errors and so.
I'm also experiencing this issue. Moreover, the session crashes (log out) very often, killing every single running user app. This never happened before High Sierra so I assume it is a software issue. Correct me if I'm wrong.
It seems pretty clear (to me) that this is a result of that Bartender app. I can reliably stop Bartender, and the errors stop, and restart it, and they start showing up in console again.
Has something changed recently? I started down this path because my machine has been beachballing lately...would this issue with Bartender cause that?
Ah... according to the Bartender site, this is due to a public API. So, it would be caused by anything using it. According to them, this issue is resolved in 10.13.4.

Good to hear that the issue is being resolved in the next release os macOS.

Really interesting because in my case the issue was present in a clean install with no additional apps installed or anything like that.
macOS is software as well 😉
actually when I said software, I meant macOS
I have the same error but no bartender installed…
Have you solved this issue? I'm having the problem without using Bartender.
No... I'haven't. I talked with Apple about the issue and they diminished it. I don't think it's a Bartender problem, since I never ever have Bartender.
I wouldn't say it's a software issue since I experienced it also in a clean install in an old mac MacBook Pro 2010. So I don't think it's any app involve in this but just macOS.
Sorry... I thought you mean apps... It's the first Apple asked me when I commented the issue with them...
But, no... it's not because an app.
Hey Mike,
I'm experiencing exactly the same issue, though I never ever had this Bartender app.
