Homekit automation is disabling itself

I'm using a sunset-based automation that turns on lights 1 hour before sunset. It works fine except that after it performs the automation it gets disabled (automatically—when I open the Home app on my iPhone (6s, 11.1) or my iPad (also 11.1) after the event the automation gets its status updated to "disabled").

I'm using an Apple TV (Model A1625, tvOS 11.1) as a hub and the iPad is *not* enabled as a hub.

I do not have this problem with any other automations; however, it is the only automation that is based on a time before sunset. I have events that happen at sunrise, sunset and 45 minutes after sunrise and they all work fine.

The only other thing about this particular automation that is unique is that it is the first automation in the list of automations.

Has anyone experienced this and developed a workaround (re-enabling an automation on a daily basis is not really my idea of an automation)?

For what it's worth, here is my workaround:

I created an automation that turns on the same devices at 45 minutes before sunset. That automation (because of how things get ordered numerically/alphabetically) ends up further down in my list of automations. My original "1 hour before sunset" remains disabled at the top of the list and my devices now get turned on, as they should, 45 minutes before sunset.
