Question: would like to see the written directions on iPhone

Can I view the written directions/streets on my iPhone like I used to instead of having to choose which route Siri will talk me through? I have an iPhone 5S version 11.0.3

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Not the map area, but in the area where the directions show. Instead of tapping on Go, you move over to the left and tap. In the attached photo, tap in the area of red. You should then get the information in the second photo.

If you search for a location and then tap directions, it will calculate the route for you in Maps. At that point, you would tap on the directions area, not on the Go button. Tapping the directions area will provide you with the turn by turn directions, but not provide you with the verbal directions.

Thank you for your answer. For some reason, my phone is not cooperating. I believe it used to do that where you can tap on the map area for the written directions.
