Gifting iTunes Content from Another Country

If someone in the UK were to click "Gift This TV Season" and the recipient of this gift was myself (having a USA account), would the transaction successfully go through? Would I be able to play the TV show episode content that I receive?

The actual gifting of it would go through, but the recipient would not be able to redeem the gift - you can't gift items, nor an amount, to people in another country.
