When my mouse pointer moves to the very left of the screen the sidebar opens. It is very annoying. How do you get rid of it permanently? NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN.

Are you talking about the Dock
System Preferences -> Dock -> Position on screen: Left
System Preferences -> Dock -> Automatically hide and show Dock
If not, you could tell us if this is something in an application, or maybe give us a Screen Shot (Command-Shift-4), then drag and drop the screen shot file from you Desktop into a Reply to this thread.
I assume you mean the Safari sidebar when Safari is in full screen. To my knowledge there is no way to disable that. You would have to either run Safari in a normal window or maximized. Or use a different browser.
