Is there any other way I can connect my Apple TV without the remote?

So I’m staying in a hotel this weekend. And I brought my Apple TV with me however I forgot my remote. I have the Apple TV remote Application however I was not able to connect my Apple TV to Wi-Fi because I did not bring the Physical remote with me, Therefore I was not able to access the Internet preferences. I’ve read some tips online which said to connect the Apple TV through ethernet cable, which I did. Now, for some reason my application is not picking up the Apple TV through the Wi-Fi ( I think it’s because it’s hooked up through ethernet). Is there any other way possible I can control my Apple TV without the remote or a possible way to still connect The application to my Apple TV while the ethernet cable runs through my Apple TV?
