how to erase and re-format a memory stick

I was told to erase and re-format my memory stick but I do not know how to do that.

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

Hi,

Plug in the flash drive > open Disk Utility > select that drive on the left > click on Erase and choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled) GUID.
