Recovery or internet recovery might not be available for this machine but if you or a friend have one near by, you can try this.

I don’t have a startup disk... is there anyway to reboot on the keyboard. I have the 13” MacBook air
Try pressing the Option, Command, and R keys. If the computer’s too old for that to work, no.
