Iphone 5 cable intermittent charging

Hello Iphone 5 users. After some soul searching, I have found this solution to my iphone 5 cable charging issue: intermittent charging. I've just found out today that the cable I'm using, one that I bought a an authorised Apple store, is faulty at its jack/connector to the Iphone. One of the connecting points (the goldish part) is lifted, the reason why it is intermittent. So, I used an old Iphone 4 cable and insert an Iphone 5 adaptor, and it works really well. I think for convenience, simply replace with a new Iphone 5 cable. Hope this helps.

Thank you but as this is a replacement Apple-endorsed cable to the original cable that came with the phone when it was new, I think it could be wear-and-tear usage.

In fact, the original earphone or earbud was also flimsy and it broke down within a year of my Iphone purchase. I now bought one outside that's cheaper and performing well even though it's without the volume and music controls functions.
