Connecting Yamaha MG-XU series to Logic Pro X

I am trying to connect an external hardware mixing device in Logic Pro X, but cannot seem to figure out how to use it in Logic Pro X version 10.3.2. The device is a Yamaha MG12XU being connected to a macbook pro on OS Sierra.

So far I have tried: Logic Pro X -> Control Surfaces -> Setup -> New -> Install. I have also used the "Scan all models" option and both were not affective. I have also applied the device as both an input and output device yet still no luck.

The mixing board is recognized by the mac and logic pro as MG-XU when plugged in but unable to be directed to use the 12-channel slides within the logic pro app. Is it possible to assign my channels on the mixing board to tracks within the Logic software so I can use the knobs/sliders on the board?
