IOS High Sierra - volume slider/touch bar issue

I have a MBP 13" 2016 model with touch... I just upgraded to High Sierra 10.13.1...

and besides the install resetting the touch bar icons to default, the volume sider has shrunk and is pretty much unusable. Does anyone else have this issue?

the only work around I have been able to do is remove it from the Touch Bar, and add the 3 volume icons - mute, volume down and volume up... an ok fix, but a waste of space on the touch bar having 3 buttons where there could effectively be one.

Powering off, clearing touch bar and re-adding all shortcuts etc makes no difference.

Any help is workarounds, besides the above would be greatly appreciated..
